About SEI

Califon, NJ

Classroom Location
The Raritan Inn at Middle Valley
528 County Road 513
Califon, New Jersey 07830

This year’s workshop will take place in the lovely little Victorian-style enclave of Califon, New Jersey. The community was named for the state of California, in honor of a resident who had returned from the gold rush. The site of the workshop, the Raritan Inn sits on twenty-four acres on the banks of the South Branch of the Raritan River. The Inn is consciously committed to an "eco-friendly" experience with an objective to minimize energy consumption while generating power from natural sources. The innkeeper's cottage is a Civil War vintage house that operates as a residential power plant. Learn more about the Raritan Inn and its renewable energy systems, visit http://www.raritaninn.com/
